It was never actually supposed to be a full recording.

Katy originally recorded part of the song as a joke for the intro to Soundclash on South Wales ONE Radio. It was just a bit of fun for the show — until listeners started telling us how much they liked it.

So we did the only sensible thing.

We recorded the whole thing.

What started as a throwaway idea became a genuine listener favourite and eventually earned itself a place on Under The Covers. Sometimes the songs you never planned to record are the ones that end up having the best stories.

And if you arrived here expecting something else...

Well, you've just been Katy-rolled. 😂

I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues

This one has a particularly special place in Under The Covers — because it was Katy’s very first recording.
